A music enthusiast with strong music background
Pandit Krishnakumar I – The Sitar Exponent belongs to “BANDE ALI KHAN BEENKAR GHARANA” of Dharwad, being a disciple of Sitar Maestro Ustad Bale Khan, who is the grandson of Sitar Retna REHIMAT KHAN. Under the strict supervision of the Ustad, and in the orthodox system of ‘Gurkulam’, more than 9 years. There after he moved to Banglore and associated with film music and played in several film background music and songs in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. He has worked with almost all leading music directors in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. He had a close relationship with music director Devarajan Master, Raghavan Master, Arjunan Master, Johnson Master, Raveendran Master and has played for them. He has given Sitar concerts in many prestigious functions and meetings all over Kerala. He has participated in the Grammy Award Winner album “The Winds Of Samsara”.
His approach towards Ragas is totally orthodox and he believes in purity and richness of Indian Classical music.
Graduate in Chemistry, from Sacred Heart College Thevara and presently working as a full-time musician. He hails from Ottappalam and is now settled in Cochin. He is giving classes in Sitar.
